Penguins

Penguins spend most of their life in the ocean. Penguins waddle because they have short legs. You know how penguins slide on their bellies? This is called tobogganing. Penguins can not fly because millions of years ago they could fly, but they did not because they could swim, so their wings change over time into flippers. Penguins have waterproof feathers, made for swimming. Did you know that penguins beaks can be bright purple. In Spanish the word penguin is pronounced, pinguino? Pretty cool right? If you want to know how to say it, go to google translate and search from English to Spanish, the word penguin. See ya!!

Geese

Geese make a wonderful jerky. My dad has this awesome recipe for making goose jerky. It just so happens that my dad is also hunting for geese. Just so you know, hunting is part of the balance of nature. Because geese eat fish, and if geese get over populated then they will eat all of the fish, and there will be no more fish, and all of the geese would die because they don't have any food. So then there will be no more fish AND no more geese. That would really stink. So hunting is how we can keep the geese just right in population, and keep the fish. Oh and also you have a limit for how many geese you can get, so there will not be an underpopulation of geese, and then there would be way to many fish. Goose jerky is AWESOME!!!!!

O.k. I discovered that since dogs bark and cats meow and purr, that means animals have feelings. They feel sad or angry, or just like barking. Feelings are emotions, and emotions make up personalities, so they DO have feelings, and they DO care about their owners, and all animals have different personalities.

Reptiles

Hey!!! I just wanna say this is for my brother again!! This weeks lizard of the week is the Jacksons chameleon. This chameleon is cool because it is one of the only lizards that have horns. Males have 2-3 horns and females have 0-1 horn. Chameleons have sticky tongues that shoot out at insects super quick and eat them. Chameleons can also change colors to match in with their environment.

My mom

O.k. sorry mom this is a little late, but now I want to tell you about my awesome mom. My mom worked as many different things, and some are so complex, that I still don't get them (my mom's super smart). She was once  a emergency response vet, and helped animals. But after college, she worked for pharmacies, and when I say pharmacies I don't mean hand the people the medicine, she worked at the place that made the medications. Pretty cool right! I love my mom so very much for all that she has done.

Reptiles

Hey Alex, this is for you. I have to say reptiles are pretty cool. One thing my brother told me about komodo dragons is that they have pink spit because there is so much bacteria in their mouths. Komodo dragons are pretty cool also, when they bite, the bacteria goes into the wound and kills the animal over time. They can bunch up and kill an animal and each get their fair share. That is the reptile of the week, love you Alex!!!

Amazon Kindle The new Amazon Kindle is sooooo cool, I mean save the trees and get this cool gadget, and also, if you get it, you can save money on books. If you have an iphone, ipod touch, or ipad then there is a free Amazon Kindle app, where it is the same thing, you can buy books!! So cool right!?

You HAVE to read this book

O.k. if you have not already read the book The Lightning Thief then you really should. It is about a boy who gets himself into total trouble. He got expelled from almost every school. When Percy finds out that he is not a mortal human, things then go wrong. He has to go to a special camp, camp Half-blood, so that he is protected from monsters. I am now on the third book, and it is a AWESOME series. If you have not yet read this book, the read it!!!

My dad

Ok, I wanna brag a little about my dad. My dad is totally awesome, so very smart, and loves me a lot. He is teaching me how to be a computer geek, like him. It is kinda fun actually. Sometimes he has to stay up late and get up early in the morning to work. He loves his job, a lot. I have actually have never been in his office before. It sounds cool though. My dad works right next to the awesomest street in the whole world!! Most people would think that oh it's just a street, but actually it is a pedestrian street, with one of a kind stores. Sometimes me, my mom and my brother would go out to lunch with him (and boy, do they have good food!!). My dads job is not the only cool thing though, my dad cares, and even though he might seem like he is mad, he still is full of love. He is a real outdoors-man, let me tell ya, he loves to hike, fish, camp, bike, everything that you could possibly think of doing outdoors. Well, I gotta go (I STARVING!!!). I love you dad, and just so you know mom, your next week!! Bye!!

Hey all you people out there reading my blog, I just wanted to say that you should visit my blog around once a week and I will have a new post!! Awesome right?! So middle schoolers who have a choice of taking Spanish or French instead of another class, I would choose the Spanish or French because then you will know how to lots of words in high school and it will be very helpful. School

So as most of you know, school started. So one of my teachers last year, my homeroom teacher/reading teacher, liked me a lot. I didn't really like her though, and when reading came around, she hated me. I bugged her a lot. So this year my homeroom teacher is really nice. Everyone says she is mean, but I like her. 7th grade, to me, is so much better than 6th grade. It is so fun, and you don't have boring teachers who make you read a textbook. I have to say though, last year I had some awesome teachers. One was my math teacher and another is my science teacher. Now I hate science because I have a mean teacher. So yesterday I had 3 tests. It stunk. I am so happy it's Saturday. I'm starving, so talk to me next time on butterfly5dz.blogspot.com thanks

Penguins

O.k. The votes are in. Most people think penguins are so cool. I have to agree. I LOVE penguins they are my favorite animal. Penguins are very smart. They swim and catch fish, and even Emperor penguins eat squid. The ocean that Emperor penguins swim in has an average of 32 degrees Fahrenheit. Penguins eat shrimp, fish and crabs and more. Sometimes a Killer Whale would eat a larger penguin, rather than a smaller one. But Sea Lions eat penguins more often. Adelie penguins are the smallest penguins and Emperor penguins are the largest penguins. There is a lot more penguins than just that though. Whats really sad though is when there is oil spills from boats and ships, the penguins get that on there feathers and can't get it off and when it's hot out the penguins become hot and when is cold out the penguins become cold. They will die if their body temperature is to hot or to cold. What's also really sad is that if there is a bunch of litter on the ground they will get into it and choke, or eat something their not supposed to eat. They can die from that also. That goes for all birds, everywhere. Penguins are toothless, but instead they have a beak, to grab and catch fish. In just a few minutes one penguin can eat hundreds of krill, or many small fish. Rockhopper penguins jump. They jump little distances, but it is one of there unique ways of moving. That is where they got there name, Rockhopper. Adelie penguins make piles of rocks, and whoever has the most rocks gets the girls. Some penguins live in New Zealand, where it is still cold. Like a lot of other animals, penguins molt, or shed there fur. During molting season, you will probably see a lot of penguin feathers.

Camping

Camping is really fun. Me and my family go camping in a tent. Remember to bring all of the stuff you need, because if you forget something then you will be miserable. Always bring stuff for cold or hot weather, just in case. If you go camping in a tent you will need some heavy duty sleeping bags because it gets cold outside at night, even in the summer. Me and my brother wear footy pj's because it keeps us really warm, even if you think they are babyish, you will want them for night or any warm pj's. You might even want to wear socks to bed. If you do go camping you might want to go on a hike. If you do go on a hike, you should choose a not to long, not to short, hike for you and your family. When you go on a hike make sure you stop and look at bugs and wildlife, because if you keep your eyes open you will most likely find something cool. Take lots of pictures so you can show your family all of the fun things you did. Even if that camera is one of those few dollar developing cameras. See what kind of bugs and wildlife lives in your area, and look for them, make a checklist. Camping is fun for all ages, even 3 year olds because my 3 year old cousin goes camping.

Rain

Right now it is raining. You might wonder why it rains, or why it thunders and lightnings. Water evaporates and the water goes into the clouds. When the clouds can't hold anymore water, it rains. This is called the water cycle. Why it thunders and lightnings is because when two clouds rub together, it forms static electricity. Like when you have socks on and you rub them against a carpet, it creates static electricity. That is how it rains, thunders and lightnings.

Lions

Right now I feel like a lion. I am so tired and want to roar like a lion. Lions are pretty cool. They are lazy in the hot sunlight and are more active in cooler conditions. Lions enemy is a hyena. Hyenas will tackle lions and they will fight till the death. Male lions have manes. Their manes can be dark brown or blonde. Lions are so cool because look at their teeth, they are giant. Now I know why lions roar, it feels good every now and then.

Pets

Hey, do you want a pet? If the answer is yes and your parents don't want one then just follow what I say and you will get a pet!! First you have to convince your parents to go to the pet store or wherever you can adopt the pet. After you do that, and say how cute they are, or how much you want one. Then, your parents will most likely think about it. Then you should just keep quiet and not tell them anymore of how much you want this pet. Begging will not help. You should also be kind to your parents and be responsible in every way possible without whining. Then after a while your parents will give you an answer and hopefully you will soon have a new pet!!

Max

Max is my dog. He is so cute. Here is a picture of him. He always looks sad, but he is so spoiled. He is a greyhound and he used to race. We rescued him. You can rescue greyhounds and look more into them. They are adorable puppies and are really fast.

More About Max

Max is my 10 year old greyhound that used to race. He is a wonderful dog and loves to go on walks and lay in the grass on a hot day. Max is getting kind of old, but still acts like a puppy, and is not running as fast as he used to. But he is still a fun dog. Lots of little kids and friends and family and pretty much anyone, loves Max. Max is very funny,a few times he rubbed against the wall. He also likes to rub his face against the couch. If you pat Maxes belly after he eats, then he burps, in your face. Max is a great dog, and I love him so very much.

Greyhounds are wonderful.

Trees

Trees are so wonderful. They give us fresh clean air and provide us shade. Pine cones, from pine trees, hold seeds, and when it is cold and rainy the pine cone closes up and when it is warm they open up. Some trees, smell like butterscotch or vanilla, like this tree,

Next time you see a tree that looks kind of like this one smell it.

Silly Bandz

Silly Bandz are extremal popular. Do you think the are cool? Silly Bandz are cool bracelets that not only look cool but are, when you take them off, different things, like animals, stars, flowers and so much more!! They are so cool and you have to check them out. The only thing is in most schools they are about to ban them because they are such a distraction. Do you think silly Bandz should be baned? You can find them in many different stores.

Penguins

Penguins are so cool. They do some pretty amazing stuff, like huddle together to keep warm and push someone into the water first and make sure they are safe before everyone goes in the water. Penguins eat fish and normally live in colder regions like New Zealand and Antarctica in the Southern hemisphere. Penguins slide on there bellies to move a little faster. Penguins are prey to sea lions, in other words sea lions eat penguins. I first got interested in penguins a few years ago, and shortly after, started to recycle, to help save the penguins.

MY DAD SAVED A BABY DUCK!!

A few days ago I went camping. When me and family went to fish, later on we herd a mother duck start to quack very unusually. My dad saw some thing hanging on the branch and he knew something was wrong. When we got over there, there was a little baby duck hanging by a fishing line. My dad broke off the branch and carefully took the hook off of the baby duck. My brother got to hold the baby duck too. Then we let him go and he ran right into the water. We all stared at the spot he sunk like a rock. He must have eventually popped up because my dad says the naturally float. The mother duck calmed down and all six baby ducks were all back with there mom. I felt so good that I helped save a baby duck. Please do not do what we did unless your dad has been fishing for years and your mom/dad is or was a vet.
